REHOBOTH, 09 MAY – Three matches deferred from the weekend in the first and second rounds of the Kunene Second Division Football League will be played on Thursday and Saturday in Khorixas, Outjo and Kamanjab.
The league’s vice-chairperson, Bensley Hanabeb on Wednesday told Nampa that the matches between Pubs and Robber Chanties as well as Bethlehem Boys and Gariseb Orlando Pirates, originally scheduled for the Outjo Etoshapoort Stadium last weekend, were postponed due to belated independence celebrations there.
The match between Revengers and Green Dangers, originally scheduled for Kamanjab, was not played due to an unplayable pitch last Saturday.
“All three of the postponed matches of rounds 1 and 2 will be played on Thursday and Saturday respectively,” Hanabeb said.
The match between Robber Chanties and Gariseb Orlando Pirates will be played at the Herbert Conradie Stadium in Khorixas while the Revengers and Green Dangers match will be played at Kamanjab Combined School on Thursday.
Etoshapoort Stadium on Saturday will play host to the match between Bethlehem Boys and Gariseb Orlando Pirates.
All the matches start at 14h00.
Hanabeb said the league will also hold its elective Annual General Meeting at the Kunene Regional Council Chambers at 10h00 on Saturday, where new leadership will be elected.
He added that the third round of the league will continue on Saturday and Sunday.
