WINDHOEK, 10 JUN – The Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources will kick-start public consultations around fishing rights applications in the Khomas Region on Monday in a bid to enlighten prospective applicants on the much-sought-after rights.
This was revealed in a letter dated 08 June 2018 and addressed to all Khomas regional councillors issued by the region’s Chief Regional Officer, Clement Mafwila.
The information sharing session will take place on Monday from 09h00 to 13h00 in the Kovambo Nujoma Community Hall at the Khomas regional offices.
“The aim of the session is to discuss the aspects in the Government Notice (Gazette) 92 and 93 that announced the period for rights and conditions for granting of rights to harvest certain marine resources for commercial purposes as per the Marine Act of 2000,” Mafwila said.
The councillors have further been urged to invite members of the public from their respective constituencies to the information sharing session.
