NKURENKURU, Sept. 26 – On 22 September, Nkurenkuru celebrated the opening of its first ever MTC Mobile Home, in the process becoming the 34th store in the country.
The operating hours are from, Monday to Thursday 08h00 until 17h00, Fridays from 09h00 until 17h00 and Saturday’s from 08h00 until 13h00.
The commissioning of the Nkurenkuru Mobile Home will see it bring to an end the commuting to and from the town of Rundu by its residents, which was the only shop that provided MTC services in the entire Kavango region – before the division into two regions namely Kavango West and East.
Following the formation of the Kavango West Region in 2014, MTC considered a business approach in which it informed planners to start the necessary ground work of finding space to set up shop in the town, so as to serve the newly established region.
“This very strategic shop, had it not been for the challenges we encountered in finding suitable premises, would have been a reality longtime ago in 2016, however we are glad to state that the residents of Nkurenkuru are now indeed part of the 081 family with their own shop,” said MTC’s Tim Ekandjo.
He added that the Nkurenkuru Mobile Home, just like the Eenhana Mobile Home which opened its door last month, rests directly in the company’s newest strategic outlook as underlined by its 081Every1 project which seeks to ensure 100 percent population density network coverage in the next two years.
Besides its own network of Mobile Homes, MTC also relies on dealers and over three-thousand small retailers who sell a diverse variety of MTC related services to a customer base of 2 million from their business outlets – thus providing an unmatched footprint of MTC services country wide.
The Shop is located at the Matukuchila Complex, Shop No.5 and is manned by a staff of two. – NDN Staffer
