KASU Dream cup set for August

WINDHOEK, 13 JUL – The Katutura Sport Union (KASU) will host its annual sixth Dream Cup tournament next month.
The tournament, slated for 04 August 2018, will take place at the Katutura Sport Complex and Ella du Plessis High school sport field in Windhoek.
The chairperson of the union, Kuveri Tjonga told Nampa on Thursday that N. dollars 30 000 has been set aside to be distributed between the winning netball and football teams.
N. dollars 10 000 was allocated to netball while N. dollars 20 000 was given to football.
He explained that the tournament will also help in preparing the Namibian Premier League players to be fit for league in September.
“This is an open tournament and we will allow five premier league players to play per team,” he said.
The netball winner will take home N. dollars 5000, a trophy and 20 gold medals while the runners-up will go walk away with N. dollars 2 500 plus 20 silver medals.
The winning team in the football category will pocket N. dollars 10 000, a trophy plus N. dollars 20 gold medals.
The runners-up will get N. dollars 5 000 with 20 silver medals while the semi-final losers will each pocket N. dollars 2 500.
The registration fee for the tournament is N. dollars 1 800 and teams have until 31 July 2018 to register.
The draw for this tournament will take place on 31 July 2018 at 18h00 at Namibia English Primary school.
Established in 1992, KASU is aimed at developing sport in Katutura through hosting local football and netball tournaments that engage the youth in the neighboring teams around Windhoek.
