SINGAPORE, Nov. 5 — Singapore has set a minimum threshold of 40 percent for lifecycle emissions reductions for sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) procured using proceeds from its SAF levy, as the country prepares to launch its first tender by mid-December 2026, regulators said on Thursday.
The SAF must also meet sustainability criteria under the International Civil Aviation Organization’s Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation, the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) said in a statement.
The first tender will seek an initial volume of 20 to 30 kilotonnes.
The tender is open to suppliers and producers able to deliver SAF through Changi Airport’s existing fuel infrastructure and meet technical and sustainability requirements, the CAAS said. (Namibia Daily News/Xinhua)
