REHOBOTH, 03 JUL – The man arrested at Rehoboth on charges of attempted rape and robbery made his first appearance in the Rehoboth Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
Romario Jacobs appeared before Magistrate Dina Kamboua.
It is alleged that Jacobs on Saturday near the Burgershoek residential area in Rehoboth allegedly attempted to have sexual intercourse with an 18-year-old girl.
He allegedly assaulted and threatened the victim before stealing her cellphone and N.dollars 20 from her.
Jacobs indicated that he will apply for Legal Aid and the matter was postponed to 24 July for him to obtain representation and for further police investigations.
He was denied bail and is being held at the Rehoboth police holding cells.
Public Prosecutor Leonard Mateus appeared for the State.
