KABUL, Oct. 5 — Security forces thwarted attempts to traffic 235 individuals and arrested 38 suspected traffickers in western Afghanistan’s Nimroz province on Sunday, provincial police spokesman Mawlawi Gul Mohammad Qudrat said Monday.
In a drive against human trafficking, security forces launched operations and rescued 235 people from the clutches of traffickers in parts of the provincial capital Zaranj and the Chakhansor and Kang districts the previous day, Qudrat said.
The suspected human traffickers were attempting to take the victims out of the country illegally, he said, adding that security forces also seized 10 vehicles and some motorbikes from the traffickers.
