NCUNCUNI, Mar. 29 – SWAPO Party’s Sindjanga Ritha emerged victorious in the by-election for a new Regional Councillor for the Ncuncuni Constituency in Kavango West that took place on Wednesday.

Ritha’s contestant Mangundu Paulus Kakoma (All People’s Party – APP) managed to garner 355 votes out of a possible 1452. According to an ECN Twitter post, Ritha votes tallied 1097;  almost triple that of her adversary’s votes.

The by-election was necessitated by the death of Councillor Rosa Kavara in January this year.
