WINDHOEK, Sept. 12 — In a commendable act of generosity, the Society of Anaesthetists of Wales has donated 15 books to the Hage Geingob Campus Library at the University of Namibia (UNAM). These books, valued at approximately £1000 (just over N$20,000), have been thoughtfully selected to cater to Masters’ degree students pursuing studies in Medical Anaesthesia.
The donation was warmly received by Ms. Menete Shatona, the Campus Librarian, who expressed her appreciation, stating that these books would “significantly enhance our ever-growing selection of resources for the Medical Anaesthesia program.” She further emphasized that the donation would undoubtedly benefit numerous students and medical professionals for years to come.
The Society of Anaesthetists of Wales serves as a professional body representing anaesthetists in Wales. This gesture exemplifies their unwavering commitment to supporting academic excellence and medical education.
Dr. Joseph Ndinoshiho, University Librarian, underscored the significance of this donation, characterizing it as “an invaluable contribution of relevant books to the academic community in the Faculty of Health Sciences & Veterinary Medicine.” He also highlighted the power of international partnerships in advancing education and healthcare on a global scale.
