WINDHOEK, Feb. 22 – Namibian Minister of Presidential Affairs Honourable Immanuel Ngatjizeko has been from his duties by President Hage Geingob, on account of ill-health.
The decision was based on the recommendation of Ngatjizeko’s physician.
“You have been a model cadre and an outstanding servant to the people of Namibia, and this is evident through your reputation as an admired and respected leader within the community,” said President Geingob.
Geingob also thanked Ngatjizeko for invaluable and exemplary contribution to the SWAPO Party, the Government of Namibia and the Namibian people. -Ngatjizeko was moved to the Presidential Affairs portfolio from Ministry of Industrialization, Trade and SME Development, following a Cabinet reshuffle in January.
Ngatjizeko has been a Member of Parliament since 2000, and member of the Cabinet since 2003 when he was appointed Director-General of the National Planning Commission.
He has also served as Deputy Minister of Mines and Energy, Minister of Trade and Industry, Minister of Labour and Social Welfare and as Minister of Safety and Security. – NDN Staffer
