WINDHOEK, June 29 — Namibia’s arts and performance industry is set for a fun filled year following the launch of the country’s largest ever talent show on Friday.
Namibian legendary musician Tate Buti, one of the organizers, said the talent scouting show targeting music arts and any type of performing arts will unlock opportunities for youth in the country and will go a long way in exposing raw talent.
The show will scout talent in performing arts across the 14 regions of the country.
“When I started the concept I thought of finding a way of exposing youth in Namibian with artistic talent across the the regions. I thought this could be a way of exposing a lot of young people with ability to showcase their talent in Namibia,” said Buti.
The talent show has a host of judges including Namibian performer Top Cheri, alias Monica Pinias, as well as Dion Auala, one of the country’s top performers.
“I will be looking for something out of the ordinary and to give young people a chance to shine at the highest level,” said Cheri. – XINHUA
