Katima Mulilo, Aug. 9 – The Zambezi health directorate on Monday started with the National Integrated Vaccination campaign in all constituencies of the region.
The campaign will take place countrywide from 8-19 August 2022 and will cover children between nine months and five years against measles, rubbela and other routine vaccinations.
The aim is to prevent childhood diseases such as polio, diarrhoea, whooping cough and other diseases.
Children found to be suffering from malnutrition will be provided with vitamin A, women of childbearing ages will be offered tetanus toxoid vaccination and iron supplements, and during the same period, vaccination against COVID 19 will be offered to persons aged 12 and above.
Members of the public are encouraged to make use of this opportunity to avert the possible spread of childhood diseases.
