WINDHOEK, Aug. 11 — In less than two months, Namibia has received two global superstars who came on holiday.
Lewis Hamilton the British motorsports racer visited the country soon after Jose Mourinho, the A.S. Roma manager, had been in the country a month earlier.
The Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Tourism welcomed the visits by the elite sports personalities.
“These visits are a clear indication that Namibia has unique features that attract a niche market. We pride ourselves on the peaceful nature of our people, our breath-taking landscapes and our iconic wildlife which in our view are collectively the key factors attracting renowned global superstars,” Romeo Muyunda chief public relations officer said.
The country’s small population and vast empty spaces also give the country a unique advantage where social distancing comes in naturally as per COVID 19 protocols.
“We express our profound gratitude to the superstars for their visits to the Land of the Brave, with these visits they have exposed Namibia to millions of people that follow them.
“It is our hope that these visits will direct more tourists to Namibia. We are also happy to note Mr Hamilton gave a positive review of his visit to Namibia as one of the most stunning places he has ever seen,” Muyunda added.
“My first stop was Namibia, one of the most stunning places I have ever seen with my own eyes,” Hamilton noted on his Social media post.
