EDUCATE YOUNG WOMEN THROUGH SPORT. 

NKURENKURU, FEB. 24– Following a deliberate move by the International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA) to develop Women Football around the globe through its National Federations, Kavango West Women Football League under the auspices of the Namibia Football Association Women Desk is not being left out. In response to this call, the just elected Kavango West Women Football Committee led by Diana Jacobs has designed strategy to reach out to most parts of the region through constituency site visits. A deliberate move to reach to most of the girls in the Kavango West Region. This program is the first ever in the Region as it will also create opportunities not only to create awareness on Women Football development but to also educate young women about teenage pregnancy, women empowerment (leadership), during the visits.

During the interview, with one of our reporter, Mr Isa Saidi who is the Regional Administrator for Kavango West Region , speaking on behalf of the Regional Coordinator said “Through sport young women and girls will get a chance to associate with others and share ideas about their livelihood in their various communities and their rights in the society.

This program schedule to take place in all 8 constituencies, namely Nkurenkuru, Mpungu, Tondoro, Musese, Kapako, Ncuncuni, Ncamagoro and Mankupi from the scheduled date of 27 February to 7 March 2021. Due to Covid 19 protocols the program is expected to register 44 players per session in a community who will receive coaching as well as motivations on Why Women Football.
