OSHAKATI, May 23 – Police in Oshana are investigating a robbery with aggravating circumstances after six Angolan nationals were robbed of items worth over N$ 120 000 on Sunday at Hotel Destiny in Ongwediva.
According to a report from Oshana police spokesperson, Thomas Aiyambo the Angolans, two females, and four males, only arrived in Namibia on Saturday.
The driver, a 34-year-old Angolan male, working for BNI Bank, Lubango Angola had just parked his black Toyota Fortuner, registration LD-09-63HK, in the parking area of Hotel Destiny at 12h13 on Sunday when they were robbed by two unknown men, one with a black pistol. The robbers demanded money and fired two shots during the incident.
The following items were stolen: 2 iPhone 12 Pro Max valued at N$ 37 931 each, 1 iPhone X valued at N$ 15 863, 1 Nokia C20 valued at N$ 10 000, 7 Bank Visa Cards, 2 passports, 3 SADC driving licenses, 1 Air pod values at N$ 7000 and N$ 10 870 in cash. The total value of the stolen is N$ 121 662.12
There have been no arrests or items recovered so far. – Namibia Daily News
