Young girl’s mutilated body found in Khomasdal

WINDHOEK, 28 AUG – The lifeless body found near the Staanvas circle in Khomasdal has been identified as that of a nine-year-old girl, Cheryl Avihe Ujaha, who was reported missing on Saturday.
This was confirmed by the Namibian Police Force (NamPol) Deputy Commissioner Abner Agas at the site where the body was found, adding that the girl’s seemingly burnt remains were mutilated, with the head, arms and legs cut off, while the internal organs were also removed.
“The body (was) mutilated into pieces. That’s all we can say,” Agas said, adding that the body was not in a decomposing state.
He added that they could not confirm whether or not the body was cooked or burned, but did not rule out the possibility it having taken place.
“It looks like it was boiled in the water but we cannot confirm this until we have done the investigation,” the deputy commissioner said.
Agas, however indicated that the body was dumped there from the original crime scene which is yet to be identified.
“It doesn’t look like (a) murder crime scene when you look at it. It’s obvious (she) was killed somewhere and then was just dumped here,” he added.
To this end, no suspect has been arrested in connection with what Agas described as hideous crime.
He then appealed to members of the public to come forth with information that can assist the police in bringing the person or persons responsible for the crime to book.
A passer-by who alerted the police about the body told reporters that the body had been stripped off its clothes at the time he arrived at the scene.
The deceased was identified by family members who accompanied police officers to the mortuary.
