ONDANGWA, MARCH 14 – The Uukule Secondary School in Oshikoto region primed for another school cultural festival.
The festival is held in honour of the different tribes and will be host to various activities, which will be held under the theme ‘Showcasing the silver lining in our culturally diverse landscape.’
The festival which is schedule for the 19th of this month, will celebrate the shared history of all cultures of the learners at the school. It will also be attended by various traditional leaders and several cultural performances aimed at entertaining the learners and visitors will feature during the festival.
According to one of the organizers for the festival Sir Junior David, the festival is aimed to preserves and promote culture through various activities.
“The event is planned to facilitate intergenerational transfer of values, customs, language and cultural norms. Panel discussions, exhibitions, presentations, cultural games, dance and a range of other exciting and educational activities are planned during the day,” said David.
Furthermore, he said that the event will be heighted with ohungi, Miss and Mr Cultural Festival, and special performances from local artists, which is schedule for the 18th before the main event. – NDN Staffer
