SWAKOPMUND, Sept. 25 – With just a few days to go before the Swakopmund Standard Bank OTB X-trails, sports enthusiasts are urged to register for the third and final leg of the Coastal X-trails before the closing date.
This promises to be the most gruelling yet rewarding X-trails yet, as they will be hosted in the coast for the first time in the history of the trails.
“We are very excited about the Swakopmund X-trails because it is a first for us and we can guarantee it will be our best trail yet. Participants will be able to take in the exhilarating cool sea breeze, all the while admiring the untamed beauty of our dunes,” Standard Bank’s Acting Head of Marketing Sigrid Tjijorokisa said.
She added that like others before it, this X-trail will be the ideal opportunity to walk or run, while taking in the beautiful scenery and is family friendly. Both professional and amateur athletes can participate in the trails.
“We have had children as young as three years old participating in our trails, proving that it is a family friendly event and it encourages a healthy lifestyle from a young age. As a financial institution we understand the importance sport plays in sustaining good mental health, we are therefore proud to be sponsoring this event,” she explained.
With a record breaking 600 people participating in the Khomas-Hochland (KH) X-Trails which was held at the Avis Dam in July, the Bank hopes that the Swakopmund X-trails will surpass that record.
“This is your last chance to participating in this fantastic lifestyle event if you didn’t get a chance to participate in the first two, and will help strengthen your mental resolve even further if you participated in the first two. Employing a healthy lifestyle begins with you taking one step at a time and the X-trails can be that first step for you so I urge you all to come out in numbers for this event,” Tjijorokisa urged.
The Swakopmund X-trails will be taking place on 30 September. Online entries close Wednesday 27 September at 10h00. – NDN Staffer
