Normalisation Committee fire Rukoro

WINDHOEK, FEB 13 – Former Secretary General of Namibia Football Association Barry Rukoro’s hopes of maintaining influence at the NFA went up in smoke after the recently appointed FIFA-Normalisation Committee gave him his marching orders today.

As its first order of business after being appointed on February 8th, the Normalisation Committee, Chaired by  Hilda Basson Namundjebo, wrote an official letter to Barry Rukoro instructing him to vacate the premises of the Namibia Football Association.

Rukoro’s continued presence at Soccer House was coined “unlawful” as FIFA no longer recognised him in running Namibia’s football affairs.

“We have it on record that FIFA no longer recognises you as the General Secretary of the Namibia Football Association. Consequently as the Normalisation Committee who has the mandate to run the daily operations at the NFA, we hereby reiterate our demand that you vatae the premises of the NFA,” read the letter signed by Namundjebo.

Rukoro was also told he had an hour to vacate the premises from the time he received the letter.

Furthermore, Rukoro was ordered to abandon all possessions of the NFA, “inclusive of the vehicle you use on a daily basis at the office of the NFA.”

The alluded vehicle, that sources have identified as a Toyota Fortuner, is to be handed over to Mrs Meriam Tjivikua, the Finance and Administration Manager.

In addition, Rukoro was assured that if any remuneration or compensation is due to him on the basis of his expired contract, it would be settled within 7 (seven) working days. –
