WINDHOEK, 12 JUN – Namibia’s senior national netball team beat its development team, Namibia A in their third match of the 2018 edition of the Debmarine Namibia Pent Series.
The national senior team won the match 47-31 on Monday at the Israel Patrick Iyambo Police College in Windhoek.
The five-day competition which started on Saturday sees action between Namibia, Namibia A, Botswana, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
The national team who lost their second match of the competition against Zimbabwe on Sunday came to the match guns blazing as they lead the game from the start to the end.
The Namibia A team gave it their all in the first quarter of the match as it ended 10-9 in the senior team’s favour.
The one-point lead was extended to eight points in the second quarter after Namibia A only managed to score six points compared to the senior team’s 13 points, which ended that quarter 23-15.
The third quarter ended with a score of 34-25 with the senior team scoring 11 points, while the Namibia A team gave it their all and scored 10 points.
In the fourth quarter, Namibia’s senior team put their foot down once more in the game dominating play and scoring 13 more points while the development team found the going tough and only scored six points to end the match with a 47-31 score.
Tuesday matches will see Zimbabwe and Zambia lock horns at 15h00 while Namibia A will play Botswana at 17h00.
