OUTAPI, 26 AUG – A 35-year-old woman and her son died an accident involving an unlicensed driver at Olupaka village in the Outapi Constituency on Thursday.
The 18-year-old man was arrested shortly after running over three pedestrians who were crossing the Outapi-Ruacana road, Inspector Linekela Shikongo of the Namibian Police Force’s Public Relations Unit in the Omusati Region told Nampa Saturday.
The man had been driving a Toyota sedan without a driver’s licence from Outapi to Ruacana when the accident occurred at around 19h48.
“Two of the pedestrians involved died instantly, while the third, Naapopye Beata Naapopye, was seriously injured and taken to the Outapi District Hospital,” Shikongo said.
Naapopye, 15, was later transferred to the Oshakati Intermediate Hospital.
The deceased have been identified as her aunt, Namutenya Teodensia Shikongo from Oikwa village in the Outapi Constituency, and her one-year-old son, Akwenye Herman Mwatukange.
The next of kin of the deceased have been informed.
The driver of the vehicle will appear in the Outapi Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.

My dear friends we are not going anywhere in this very moment. Why is other people have the right to do anything they feel like and protected like angle’s with their wrongdoing. Everything that comes from the mouth of a person that words none of us can change it to be the other person wrongdoing or words. If you protect against someone you are also doing the same. We in the North Eastern regions are very peaceful so to say if it was somewhere else in this very country someone could no longer seen in an office where the nation had elected him to serve for the country. Let me clear this up that the region that’s the poorest have managers,directors,colonels,chief executive officer’s that you can name of are not originate from its region? Why do we has a slogan saying One Namibia One Nation it’s not true at all costs of lives never. Be so kind and do a search in all ministry and if you will find any of the North Eastern regions employed in that positions I mentioned. She is protecting but failed not to use a peaceful word to protect against the one she intended protection but use self proclaimed intellectual words against the Prof. who is wrong between them now? You call up a CC members meeting and you drained yourself in the trap even mouse could protect against it. We do not focuses on reality but attacking people upside down to be honest as a person to my own opinion. Swapo was a Party for life but make a big mistake to create a political science school in this country and if all political parties will in future do the same what will happen if we call ourselves democrats but practice Communist at all times. Let’s be vigilant and prepared what’s next if the extra ordinary congress is not successful and nothing is progressing out of it. Read and understand my English because I am not an HDP or any higher qualified personnel but born uneducated fool Namibian. That’s my story and my concerns.
