REHOBOTH, 29 OCT – A 23-year-old man arrested for the alleged murder of a man on Saturday made his first appearance in the Mariental Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
Jackson Sadam Shipulwa, 23, appeared before Magistrate Verinao Kamahene and his case was postponed to 10 January 2019 for him to acquire legal representation.
Shipulwa stands accused of stabbing Simon Valombola on the left side of the neck with a knife after a quarrel over a girlfriend escalated.
He ran away, but was apprehended later.
The incident occurred in Mariental’s Aimablaagte residential area.
Valombola was rushed to the Mariental State Hospital, but succumbed to his injuries.
Shipulwa was denied bail and is being held at the Mariental Police holding cells until his next court appearance.
Public Prosecutor Loide Nghixulifwa represented the State in the matter.
