WINDHOEK, 22 OCT – The first-ever General Secretary (GS) Academy workshop organized by the Confederation of African Football (Caf) in partnership with the Union of European Football Associations (Uefa) opened in Windhoek on Monday and will run until Friday.
Speaking to Nampa at opening of the workshop, Essadik Alaoui the Caf deputy general secretary responsible for administration and finance, said it is important to share good practices of football in Africa.
“We want to share knowledge and experiences with the SG’s who are continuously doing a great job daily. We what to see from our counterparts at Uefa what are their good practises which have made them so successful,” Alaoui said, adding that they will take advantage of this exchange so as to adapt those good practices and share them with all African nations.
Eva Pasquier, the Head of International Relations at Uefa said the workshop aims to help SG’s to be more professionally organised.
“They will run these organisations in good governance, transparent, professionally, communicating well internally and externally and developing football in their countries,” she said.

“The workshop is about the practical side of our work as SGs and it will be helpful when we implement and facilitate the work of the office of the SGs,” Rukoro added.
