Walvis Bay, Sept. 1 — A fire broke out at Oasis shop in Mermaid street at Narraville, Walvis Bay this morning (Thursday) around 01:05 am, burning down everything in the shop and destroying three other adjacent flats.
According to the Erongo police, the cause of the fire is unknown but it is suspected that it started at the back of the shop near the flats.
Police said there was no one in the shop when the fire started and no injuries or loss of life were recorded although there was damage to the building.
An investigation to establish the cause of the fire has been launched.
