Katima Mulilo, 24 July – All roads lead to Katima Mulilo, where government service providers have gathered to commemorate the 2023 Africa Public Service Day. The event is being held at the Unam sports field and is attended by all 14 Regional councils and several local authorities.
Ministries and agencies in attendance are taking the opportunity to showcase their services to the nation. Visitors can access various services on-site, such as passport issuance, SIM card registrations, and information sessions on acquiring land rights.
The commemoration brings all government service providers under one roof, offering residents a unique opportunity to familiarize themselves with the range of services available. As some services, like acquiring passports, are centrally-based, this event facilitates accessibility and engagement.
Hosted by the Zambezi Regional Council in conjunction with the Office of the Prime Minister, the commemoration is set to be officially opened tomorrow. The esteemed presence of the Governor of Zambezi, Alfea Sampofu, and the Chief Regional Officer, Ms. Reginah Ndopu-Ndopu, will grace the occasion, with several Executive Directors also in attendance.
Adding to the festivities, various traditional performances are scheduled to entertain the attendees. Additionally, Meatco will be present at the event, offering free tastings of their selected specials for beef lovers. The Ministry of Health and Social Services is offering counseling services for those prepared to be vaccinated against COVID-19, among other services.
The Namibia Daily News will be providing coverage from the site until the 27th of July, ensuring comprehensive reporting of the event.
As this celebration of public service continues, attendees and organizers alike remain dedicated to advancing public services and fostering a spirit of community engagement.- Namibia Daily News
