WINDHOEK, March 16– The Electricity Control Board (ECB) of Namibia issued 19 generation licenses to independent power producers, according to ECB statistics available Friday.
The licenses include those for solar and wind power generation, and 17 of the licensees have signed power purchase agreements with NamPower and two with regional electricity distributors, the ECB said.
It said 16 of the licensees are already in operation. – NDN Staffer
