LUDERITZ, 28 APR – A 23-year-old woman died when the vehicle she was traveling in overturned on the Aus – Lϋderitz road on Friday.
Namibian Police Force crime investigation coordinator for //Kharas, Deputy Commissioner Chrispin Mubebo told Nampa on Saturday morning that the accident occurred around 20h30, 40 kilometers outside Aus.
Mubebo said the unlicensed driver of the vehicle allegedly lost control of the vehicle, leading to the accident.
Mubebo said the deceased has been identified as Irini Pieters from Keetmanshoop. Her next of kin have been informed and investigations continue.
One passenger was seriously injured while two others, including a police officer, sustained slight injuries and were all rush to the Keetmanshoop State Hospital.
A case of culpable homicide, reckless and negligent driving has been opened against the driver. No arrest has yet been made.
