Sudanese police deny reports on armed attempt to smuggle ousted president
KHARTOUM, June 6 — Sudanese police on Thursday denied news reports about an armed attempt to smuggle ousted President Omar al-Bashir from Kober prison in the capital Khartoum, according to Sudanese police press office.
“The police reiterates that those reports about an attempt to smuggle the ousted president and figures of his regime from Kober prison are totally untrue. The police did not monitor any such attempt,” said a statement by Sudanese press office Thursday.
“The forces responsible for guarding and securing the prison are performing their duty efficiently and professionally and with alert,” it added. – XINHUA
