Windhoek, 17 July – Senior Officials meeting of the 25th Ordinary Meeting of the Ministerial Committee of the Organ (MCO) on Politics, Defence, and Security Cooperation was convened by the Southern African Development Community (SADC) on July 17, 2023, in Windhoek, Namibia.
Namibia currently holds the chairmanship of the SADC Organ on Politics, Defence, and Security Cooperation.
In his opening remarks, Amb. Penda Naanda, the Executive Director in the Ministry of International Relations and Cooperation, and the chair of Senior Officials, stated, “This Ordinary Session will focus on the Consolidation of Democracy in the Region, Public Security, Police, State Security, and the SADC Regional Peacekeeping Training Centre.”
The 25th Ordinary MCO meeting will conclude with the Ministerial meeting on July 20, 2023, which will be chaired by Honourable Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of International Relations and Cooperation of the Republic of Namibia, in her capacity as the Chairperson of the MCO. – Namibia Daily News
