REHOBOTH, 23 APR – A 17-year-old girl was arrested at Rehoboth on Saturday after she was allegedly found in possession of cannabis worth N.dollars 16 000.
The Namibian Police Force’s crime investigation coordinator for Hardap, Deputy Commissioner Eric Clay told Nampa on Sunday the case was reported around 09h55.
“Police officers confiscated 250 small parcels of cannabis worth N.dollars 16 000 in Block E after a police search,” Clay said.
Investigations in the matter will continue and the girl is expected to appear in the Rehoboth Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
Meanwhile, the police also said in the weekly crime report three suspects aged 13, 18 and 29 were arrested in Block E on Friday after being found in possession of mandrax and cannabis.
They were arrested at 15h25 and the police confiscated 15 full mandrax tablets; four half mandrax tablets; seven quarter mandrax tablets and 31 small parcels of cannabis.
They also had N.dollars 795 in cash on them.
Clay applauded the community members for their vigilance.
“Such acts don’t belong in our society and we are grateful to community members who report such cases. With the help of the community, Rehoboth will be rid of drug dealers,” he said.
