Kunene Second Division teams fight for second spot

REHOBOTH, 16 JUL – Teams in the Kunene Second Division Football League have been left to fight for second spot after log leaders Outjo Football Academy won their Round 18 match against Black Africa Warriors on Sunday.
Outjo’s 1-0 victory, coupled with then nearest rivals PUBS drawing a second consecutive game against Etosha United in Okaukuejo also on Sunday, swayed the scale in their favour. They now need only one point from their remaining four matches to be crowned champions.
In other Round 18 matches played on Sunday, Young Eagles beat Bethlehem Boys 3-0 in Ombika, while in Opuwo at the Newman Katuta Stadium, Kunene Namibian Police Force Football Club hammered Robber Chanties 5-1.
Revengers did not turn up for their home game in Kamanjab, making it the fourth time in a row they fail to do so. Gariseb Orlando took three points and three goals in a walkover.
Elsewhere, in a match played at the Kamanjab Combined School Stadium, Green Dangers defeated Sixty Eleven 4-0.
Outjo Football Academy lead the log standings with 46 points, followed by Young Eagles in second with 33 points and PUBS in third on 32 points.
Gariseb Orlando Pirates comes in at fourth with 32 points, with Kunene NamPol coming in at fourth with 31 points, tied with sixth placed Etosha United also with 31 points, but having scored one goal more.
In seventh place is Black Africa Warriors with 25 points, followed by Bethlehem Boys in eight spot.
Green Dangers occupy the ninth spot with 16 points, with Robber Chanties in 10th place with 13 points.
Sixty Eleven are in 11th place with 11 points, while Revengers are in 12th place with 10 points.
Meanwhile, the outstanding Round 13 match between Robber Chanties and PUBS will be played this coming Wednesday in Khorixas.
The match was not played due to the absence of match officials.
