WINDHOEK, Jan. 25 – The President of the Republic of Namibia Dr. Hage Geingob will attend the 30th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union (AU), slated for the 28th and 29th January.
The President and his delegation will travel by a scheduled commercial flight from Windhoek to Addis Ababa in the interest of curtailing and controlling travel related expenses.
The Summit will be held under the theme: “Winning the Fight against Corruption: A Sustainable Path to Africa’s Transformation.”
Preceded by the AU Gender Pre-Summit from 17 to 18 January, the 32nd Ordinary Session of the Executive Council is set for the 25th and the 26th of January 2018, while the 35th Ordinary Session of the Permanent Representatives’ Committee took place on the 22nd and the 23rd of January.
On the 29th of January 2018, the Organisation of the African First Ladies against HIV/AIDS (OAFLA) will hold the 20th Ordinary Session of its General Assembly, under the theme: “Transforming Africa through Prioritizing Children, Adolescents and Mothers in the fight against HIV.”
Dr. Geingob will be accompanied by Honorable Alpheus !Naruseb, Minister of Works and Transport, Honorable Tom Alweendo, Minister of Economic Planning and Director General of the National Planning Commission, Honorable Peya Mushelenga, Deputy Minister of International Relations and Cooperation and relevant support staff. – Jonsey Douglas
