SWAKOPMUND, AUG. 12-The Erongo Regional Council (ERC) recently announced the early retirement of Ms Nathalia /Goagoses, the Chief Regional Officer of the Erongo Regional Council.
Ms /Goagoses held the position since 1 January 2013 on a 5-year contract. Her early retirement is in terms of Section 24 of the Regional Councils Act, 1992 (Act 22 of 1992) as amended read in conjunction with Section 14(c) (i) of the Public Service Act 1980 (Act 2 of 1980).
She acquired the position as Chief Regional Officer after some 29 years of public service, including the position of Director of Education at Ministry of Education, Arts and Culture.
“The Erongo Regional Council and indeed the entire Erongo region had greatly benefited from her innovative leadership and mentoring style, which has made her one of the most inspired leaders in the Region,” read a message from ERC.
Her early retirement took effect on 1 August.
In 2015, she made headlines when she purchased the old Swakopmund municipal building for N$17 million through a company called Telne Properties cc, in which she is the majority shareholder. The company submitted an offer for the 110-year-old building, which was subsequently accepted by the Swakopmund Town Council. -Marshallino Beukes
