KARIBIB, APRIL 17 – Erongo Police have reportedly made a break-through regarding the shooting of the Executive director of the Namibian Institute of Mining and Technology (NIMT)Eckart Mueller, and and his deputy Heimo Hellwig on Monday morning.
Both were shot at the entrance of the main office building of NIMT at Arandis on Monday morning in a double murder that rocked the entire nation. Details emerged that the duo were victims at close range of a hail of bullets.
However, sources privy to this publication have indicated that a break through regarding the perpetrator of the crime has emerged after sharing that a NIMT employee based in Tsumeb was arrested yesterday (Tuesday.)
Police in the Erongo region have so far refused to confirm the arrest.
Impeccable sources told this publications that the suspect is an instructor of NIMT and is based in Tsumeb, and he was arrested in Karibib town while trying to flee back to Tsumeb.
“He was among the instructors and employees who were retrenched by NIMT and reinstated again which probably prompted the frustrated instructor to commit murder,” according to the source.
The suspect is no stranger to criminal activities, and he has been privy to multiple cases that include the harboring illegal weapons and ammunitions.
All our efforts to contact police for confirmation proved futile. – NDN Staffer
