CONAKRY, Aug. 23 — The death toll from a landslide that struck Maneah, near Guinea’s capital Conakry, late Wednesday has climbed to 18, local media reported.
Three more bodies were recovered on Friday during search operations involving the army, civil protection units, and local residents, raising the death toll from 15 to 18, according to local reports.

More than 10 people were injured, while nearly 10 others remain missing. The National Agency for Emergency and Humanitarian Disaster Management said Thursday that the landslide, triggered by heavy rainfall, buried several houses, with women and children among those feared trapped.
Rescue teams are continuing efforts under difficult conditions to locate possible survivors. (Xinhua)
