Zambian youths urged to be innovative

   CHINGOLA, Zambia, Jan. 15  -- Zambian youths should emulate their Chinese counterparts to become young employers through entrepreneurship and innovation, a government official said on Wednesday.
   Mary Chibesa, who is Chingola District Commissioner, said youths in Zambia should improve on their entrepreneurship and become innovative to create jobs for their fellow young people.
   "Most Chinese youths are employers in China, they manage state-of-the-art projects and have created jobs for their fellow youths," she said.
   Chibesa was speaking in Chingola, when a group of youth entrepreneurs paid a courtesy call at her office.
   She said Zambian youths can look to Chinese youths for more innovation and viable projects that can be co-opted by the Zambian government and be supported at a large scale for economic gain.
   Late last year, 32 Zambian youths were in China to attend the youth forum and workshops which was attended by youths from other African countries. Xinhau
