Swakopmund, 15 Aug. – Young people from across the country are gathered in Swakopmund for a three-day Unmatched Youth Summit that kicked off today to 17 August) in the coastal capital.
The summit is sponsored by the National Youth Council of Namibia, MTC Dome Namibia, Erongo Marine Enterprises, Coca-Cola Namibia and Gondwana Destinations – to give the youth an opportunity to unlock their potential and step into a future with purpose.
The aim of the Unmatched Youth Summit is to create an environment where world-class entrepreneurs can expose the youth to and teach them about world-class entrepreneurial thinking according to the experts’ definition of entrepreneurship and their methodology of doing so.
“Are we fostering an enabling environment for the future generation or leaders of tomorrow?”
The summit further aims to unlock and enhance entrepreneurial thinking amongst the youth by helping them to be entrepreneurs in their own ways. The summit will further teach them how to overcome their challenges.
This initiative also serves to raise awareness of challenges and problems facing the national youth today, contributing to a healthy young generation that has an unmatched potential to contribute to the betterment of society.
“We’re not really focused on money, we’re focused on solving certain problems in the community,” said the vice chairperson of the National Youth Council JP van der Westhuizen.
