We should maintain our intensity against Mozambique: Mannetti

REHOBOTH, 15 OCT  – Brave Warriors coach, Ricardo Mannetti said they plan a different game in the return leg against Mozambique on Tuesday at the Sam Nujoma Stadium here, calling for concentration from his players.
The Brave Warriors defeated Mozambique 2-1 in Maputo on Saturday in a Group K African Cup of Nations (Afcon) qualifier and are now second on the log with four points, three adrift of Guinea-Bissau in first.
In a media statement issued on Monday, Mannetti said the team will maintain its character and that there will be no room for complacency, calling on the fans to rally behind the team.
“On Tuesday night we have a different game from the one in Maputo. Mozambique is a quality side that can play and we have to respect them and take them very seriously like we did in Maputo,” Mannetti said.
He added that they have to maintain the same intensity and approach and keep to the objective of one game at a time in the quest of Afcon qualification.
The coach noted that he is proud of the Brave Warriors for their come-from-behind win away from home, calling on them to now strengthen their resolve.
Mannetti further called on the supporters to respect his tactical approach to matches, referring to the decision to start eventual game-winner, Deon Hotto, on the bench in Saturday’s match.
The final home game for the Warriors will be against Guinea Bissau between 12 and 20 November before they visit Zambia in March 2019.
The group winner and runner-up will qualify for the 32nd edition of the African Cup of Nations to be hosted by Cameroon from 15 June to 13 July 2019.
