OKATOPE, JAN 31 – Police are investigating a case opened in which a 17-year-old Grade 9 learner has been accused of raping a 7-year-old Grade 2 learner. The incident allegedly happened on Thursday 27 January at about 17:00 at Okaluwa village in Omuntele area.
“It is allegedly that the victim and suspect were in the sleeping room of the victim, and thereafter the suspect ordered the victim to undress and had sexual intercourse with her without consent. The victim is a 7-years-old, Grade 2 learner. The suspect is a 17-years-old grade 9 learner. The two are staying in the same house however not related.”
The suspect was arrested and scheduled to appear at Ondangwa Magistrate Court on 31 January 2022, while Police continue to investigate the matter.
A case of rape is also being investigated in Nkurenkuru, where onFriday 28 January around 02h00 in the complainant’s hut at Bravo resettlement, a suspect (21) entered the victim’s hut, allegedly forced the victim (17) down and had sexual intercourse with her without her consent. The suspect was arrested and scheduled to appear on Monday 31 January 2022 in the Rundu Magistrates Court.
On the same day in Rundu, at about 23h45 at Millennium Park, an adult male was arrested after he raped a minor aged 11-years-old. A 38-year-old woman reported the incident to the police, and investigations are underway.
In an unrelated incident on Saturday 29 January between 20h00 and 21h00 at Kambowo village, a suspect stabbed a 30-year-old woman with a knife in her face causing serious injuries, before fleeing the scene. “The motive is unknown.
