ONDANGWA, MAR 4 – The stage is set for the 9th edition of the Ondangwa business expo with over N$ 600 000 raised at a gala dinner towards hosting the event.
The expo is scheduled to take place between 29 April and 04 May this year and it will be held under the theme ‘Embracing economic growth through entrepreneurship’.
Nored pledge the highest with N$ 92 000, with First National Bank pledging the second highest of N$ 80 000, while Ondangwa pledge N$ 65 000 and N$ 10 000 in Kind.
Speaking during the event, Vice President Nangolo Mbumba said this year’s theme is line with the economic advancement pillar of the Harambee Prosperity Plan.
“I am therefore imploring the private sector to build sustainable businesses that creates jobs and aid in championing regional and local economic development,” said Mbumba.
According to Mbumba the growth of local or regional economies has proven to be the catalyst of genuine sustainable economic development.
Speaking at the same occasion Ondangwa Town Council Chief Executive Officer Ismael Namgongo, said the purpose of the expo is to give impetus to business and trading activities and stimulate economic and industrial activities in and around the town.
“We consider this event to be one of the significant processes aimed at contributing to the development efforts of our beloved town,” stated Namgongo. – NDN Staffer
