Namibian Enduro Club (NEC) sponsors Farm Neu Heusis Enduro
Windhoek Aug 13 -Round 5 of the Namibian Enduro Championship took place on Farm Hoff on 10 August 2019. Cool and slightly overcast weather greeted the competitors, with the wind picking up later during the day. The fairly long track that was littered with rocks and hidden dangers and tested all of the 44 entrants to their limit.
The Open Class saw Henner Rusch ride unchallenged to his fouth win of the season. Oliver Rohrmuller finished in second place after a measured and consistent ride and close battle with Heiko Stranghoner, whom placed third place. Rounding out the top 5 were Nickle Visser and Kai Hennes in 4th and 5th places respectively.
The Master Bike Class was won by Ingo Waldschmidt, who came back after a long hand injury. He beat Championship leader Stephanus Du Plessis by just over 3 minutes. Kai Hohmeier finish in 3rd place and Ronald Geiger in 4th.
Local rider Jaco Husselmann won the Support Bike Class. Well-deserved second place was taken by Bruno Kirchner, who only started racing at the beginning of this year and secured his first podium place for this season. Stuart Pearce finished on third place, a mere 4 minutes behind Kirchner. 4th and 5th places were taken up by Glen Mathews and Francois Theron respectively.
The Rookie Bike Class was won by John Daniel Simpson. He dominated the rest of the field on that day ahead of second place Paul Oosthuizen. Rhys Cragg, currently leader of the 2019 championship in this class finished a minute and 8 seconds behind Oosthuizen in third place. Rico Bothma and Rainer Baas rounded out the top 5.
The Development Class was won by Maike Bochert with Zoe Waldschmidt and Dylan Hilfiker in 2nd and 3rd places respectively.
