WINDHOEK, July 20 — The Namibia-Kenya Trade and Investment Conference, an annual event, will continue its tradition of fostering economic ties between the two nations. The upcoming conference is set to take place in Nairobi, Kenya, in June 2024, following the successful inaugural event held in Windhoek, Namibia, from 29th to 30th June 2023.
Founder and Brand Ambassador, Elvis Mboya, emphasized the significance of this conference in enhancing partnerships within the Namibia-Kenya business community. With each event hosted alternately between Kenya and Namibia, the conference serves as a vital platform for businesses and investors to explore potential collaborations.
The first conference in Windhoek drew about 200 in-person delegates and featured distinguished keynote speakers, including Hon Maureen Hinda-Mbuende – Deputy Minister of Finance and Enterprise, Ambassador Michael Sialai – Kenya High Commissioner to Namibia, Joseph Uapingena – Mayor City of Windhoek, and Mboya himself.
The guest speakers represented prominent organizations such as the Ministry of Trade, Industrialization, and SME Development, Namibia Investment Development Board (NIPDB), Kingdom Bank Kenya, and Optiven Group Kenya. Among the other notable speakers were representatives from the Kenya Welfare Association in Namibia, Kenya-Namibia Savings and Cooperative Society, and accomplished Namibian entrepreneurs.
The conference agenda covered a wide array of topics aimed at promoting business opportunities in Kenya and Namibia, understanding the business environments in both countries, strategies for establishing a presence in Kenya and Namibia, identifying potential business partners, preparing businesses for engaging in intra-Africa trade, and exploring various sources of business finance.
Mboya expressed his satisfaction with the resounding success of the first conference, attributing it to the collaborative efforts of the planning committees in both Namibia and Kenya, as well as the support from their invaluable partners.
Anticipation for the next conference in Nairobi is already building, with Mboya promising a bigger and better event. He urged interested companies and individuals looking to partner with the conference to initiate their engagements with the organizers promptly.
In conclusion, the Namibia-Kenya Trade and Investment Conference serves as a valuable avenue for businesses and investors from both countries to connect, exchange ideas, and explore potential partnerships. As the conference becomes a recurring event, it is poised to play a crucial role in strengthening the economic ties between Namibia and Kenya and fostering mutual prosperity for both nations. – Namibia Daily News
