Windhoek, September 21 – Dr. Peya Mushelenga, Namibia’s Minister of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), delivered a compelling message during the official launch of the seventh National ICT Summit in Windhoek. In his address, he called for the nation to fully harness the potential of ICT, prioritize cybersecurity, and foster collaboration. Mushelenga emphasized the importance of investing in cutting-edge technologies, nurturing a skilled workforce, and instilling a culture of cybersecurity awareness.
The highly anticipated seventh National ICT Summit, scheduled for October 9th to 11th, 2023, is set to draw 400 delegates and feature 30 local and international ICT exhibitors. This prestigious event serves as a platform for discussing and exploring advancements in Namibia’s ICT sector.
Mushelenga, during his speech, encouraged stakeholders from diverse sectors to actively engage in the summit, share their expertise, and partake in meaningful discussions. The collaborative essence of the event will facilitate knowledge exchange and the formulation of innovative strategies to drive Namibia’s digital growth.
Leading telecommunications companies such as MTC and Telecom Namibia, Schoemans Group, and the New Era Publication Corporation are among the key sponsors supporting the event. AVM ICT GmbH from Germany has also contributed as a significant sponsor, underscoring the international significance of the summit.
