WINDHOEK, FEB 12– Speaker of Namibia’s National Assembly Peter Katjavivi on Monday announced the arrival of a China-donated community outreach bus for the parliament of Namibia.
The donation by the parliament of China follows the request by Katjavivi at a meeting with Li Zhanshu, chairperson of the standing committee of the National People’s Congress of China, in 2018.
According to Katjavivi, the bus will be used to undertake the Namibian parliament’s much-anticipated community outreach program, which is aimed at enhancing engagement between the political leadership and citizens in the country’s 14 regions.
The customized bus will empower parliamentarians in executing outreach activities across the country and accelerate the provision of information, according to the speaker. – XINHUA
