REHOBOTH, 21 MAY – Try Again from Keetmanshoop and Young Brazilians from Karasburg collected maximum points in the opening rounds 1 and 2 matches of the Southern Stream First Division played over the weekend.
In the Inland Stream, the two teams defeated Sport Klub Windhoek (SKW) Football Club (FC) and Windhoek United FC.
On Saturday in Round 1, Young Brazilians defeated SKW 2-1 in Karasburg, while Try Again beat Windhoek United 3-2 in Keetmanshoop at the J Stephanus Stadium.
In another Inland Stream match played in Windhoek, Rebels defeated Ramblers 2-1.
The Coastal Stream results on Saturday saw rookies Northern Stars losing 2-1 at home against Okahandja based Spoilers FC in Walvis Bay, with Western Spurs inflicting a 4-1 defeat on Khomas Namibian Police (NamPol) at Kuisebmond Stadium.
In the Inland Stream Round 2 matches on Sunday, Young Brazilians defeated Windhoek United 3-1, with Try Again dispatching SKW 3-2.
The Coastal Stream saw Northern Stars dishing out a 3-2 victory against pointless Khomas NamPol, while Western Spurs and Spoilers played out a 1-all draw.
Blue Boys made sure of three points by defeating Flamingos 2-1.
The winners in each stream will battle it out for promotion to the Namibia Premier League in a play-off match, while the teams ending last in each group will automatically be relegated.
Each stream consists of six teams.
