Third Chinese Red Army female half marathon to be held in March

   GUIYANG, Jan. 15  -- The third Chinese Red Army Female Half Marathon will be held in Guizhou, Southeast China on March 8, according to the local authority on Wednesday.
   Under the theme of "Inherit the Red Gene and Run for an All-round Well-off Society", the marathon aims at calling women to fight against poverty and build up a holistic and prosperous society.
   The event comprises of a half marathon and an amateur race, while differing from the former editions, the half marathon will have a male escort team this year. Up to 10,000 participants are expected for this year's race.
   Both the half marathon and the amateur races will start from the Zunyi Conference, a trademark spot in the Chinese Red Army's Long March from 1934 to 1936.
