MOSCOW/ST. PETERSBURG, Aug. 4 — Russian forces shot down 753 drones over the past 24 hours and took control of the settlement of Baksheevka in Ukraine’s Kharkiv region, the Russian Defense Ministry said Tuesday.
The ministry said Russian forces targeted transport and energy infrastructure, logistics hubs, drone manufacturing and storage facilities, as well as temporary deployment sites for Ukrainian forces and foreign mercenaries across 148 locations.
Earlier, the ministry said Russian forces had struck four dry-cargo vessels used by the Ukrainian military, an automobile parts plant in the port of Chornomorsk, and a port terminal used to repair Ukrainian military vehicles and store supplies.
Separately, a Ukrainian drone attack on Russia’s Leningrad region injured one person and damaged a civilian facility identified as a warehouse earlier Tuesday, regional Governor Alexander Drozdenko said.
A fire broke out after the attack on the warehouse area in Krasny Bor in Tosnensky district, about 20 km southeast of downtown St. Petersburg, the governor added. (Namibia Daily News / Xinhua)
