WINDHOEK, 13 APR – The road washed away by floodwater in a video circulating on social media, is not in Namibia.
The Roads Authority issued a media statement on Friday saying it is aware of the video circulating on social media.
“In the video the road seems to pass through a flowing river and as a result of heavy river flow, the road is damaged to the extent where communities are cut off from any access through the road,” the statement said.
It further said the Roads Authority would like to assure the public that the road is not in Namibian territory but is in fact in Zambia, at a place called Kawambwa in the Luapula Province.
“The Roads Authority would like to call on the public not to panic as this road is by no way linked to any of our national roads,” it said.
