OSHIKANGO, JAN 31 – An argument between grandson and grandmother could have been the cause for the former to intentionally set his grandmother’s room on fire while she was sleeping. Police are investigating an incident that happened on Saturday 29 January at around 00h00 at Eemboo village.
“It is alleged that the suspect unlawfully and intentionally set the victim’s sleeping room on fire while she was inside the room sleeping; allegedly after an argument. The room and its content burnt completely. The fire allegedly spread and also burned the mahangu field. The victim (69) escaped with minor injuries. The nature of properties and value thereof is not yet determined. The suspect Namibian male, 26 years’ old who is a grandson to complainant (victim) and staying in the same house is arrested and police investigation continues.”
In Otjiwarongo, the lifeless body of a male adult was found lying in the street with multiple stab wounds at Telecom location. The body of Siegfried Guruseb was found at about 03h45.
It is alleged that he was stabbed with a sharp object by the suspected person after having an argument.
“The deceased person is identified as Siegfried Guruseb. Next of kin is informed. The suspect, a 19-years-old cousin to the deceased was arrested. Police investigation continues.” – musa@namibiadailynews.info
