WINDHOEK, 13 AUG – In the latest case of Gender-Based Violence, a 22-year-old woman allegedly killed her 23-year-old boyfriend after they were involved in a fight at the woman’s shack in Okombahe around midnight on Saturday.
It was reported that after arriving home from a party, the woman stabbed her boyfriend three times with a knife: once in the chest and twice in the back; in an attack that left him dead on the spot. According to Monday’s crime report issued by the Namibian Police, the suspect was arrested and expected to appear at the Omaruru Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
In an unrelated incident at Kaisosi, an unknown suspected is on the run after allegedly attempting to murder a 39-year-old victim on Friday night. According to the crime report, the suspect allegedly used an unknown object to assault the victim for unknown reasons.
The victim was admitted at Rundu State Hospital in critical condition and the police investigation into the matter continues.
In Noordhoek residential area in Keetmanshoop, a 37-year-old male, Marius Rooi was reportedly found dead in his sleep by his wife on Friday.
The report said the deceased’s wife was trying to wake him up around 05h00 in the morning and found no response. The cause of the death is unknown and a post-mortem will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
The deceased’s family are informed and investigations continue.
